Val d'Isère Resort: Reach new heights
Located in the heart of the French Alps, Val d'Isère is a world-renowned ski resort that attracts mountain lovers and winter sports enthusiasts. Nestled in Savoie, it immerses you in a typically Savoyard world with a uniquely warm atmosphere.
Authentic mountain village
From La Daille to Le Fornet, Val d'Isère has managed to preserve its authenticity over the years while developing a more open-minded approach and high standards. The traditional wooden chalets with their steeply pitched roofs, adorned with flower-filled balconies and wooden shutters, create a truly picturesque alpine atmosphere. The village offers a genuine immersion in Savoyard heritage, with its traditional restaurants serving delicious alpine cuisine.
The Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area
Linking two internationally renowned resorts, the Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area welcomes all winter sports enthusiasts from December to May. Formerly known as Espace Killy, the Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area is one of the most iconic winter sports destinations in the Alps, boasting over 300 kilometers of slopes.
Furthermore, modern and efficient ski lifts allow skiers to quickly reach the summits, thus reducing waiting times. In addition, the ski area is well-maintained and safe, with a network of professional rescuers and mountain patrollers.
From 1500 to 3540 meters in altitude, the resort promises hours of skiing! From gentle blue runs to challenging slopes, every skier will find something to enjoy. For the most athletic, take on the Face de Bellevarde, the iconic slope that hosted the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
Mythical off-piste skiing
For all freeride enthusiasts and those who love untouched slopes, legendary off-piste runs await in Val d'Isère. Whether on skis, ski touring, or a snowboard, these powder fields immerse you in the heart of the vast mountains. Here are the legendary off-piste spots:
- Les Grands Vallons: located in the Fornet area, Les Grands Vallons is a run with a 1000m vertical drop. Facing north, it guarantees snow cover throughout the season;
- Cugnaï: escape to the heart of a wild valley with a breathtaking view of Mont Charvet;
- Col Pers: for the most committed skiers in search of thrills, the Col Pers spot is located at the start from Pisaillas. Passing through the Vanoise National Park, it is a unique off-piste run that requires excellent knowledge of the terrain;
- The Tour du Charvet: ideal for starting off-piste skiing, it's a route to ski down throughout the season;
- The Table Couloir: reserved for expert skiers, the Table Couloir offers a breathtaking view of the valley. Steep and narrow, it's a demanding route that starts at the top of the Bellevarde rock.
Before venturing off-piste, remember your safety equipment and check the weather and avalanche risks.
