Well known as a popular family destination, the traditional French resort of Peisey-Vallandry is full of Savoyarde rustic charm. There are two villages to this resort, Vallandry and Plan-Peisey. It has everything you could need close by: shops, mini-market, restaurants, bars and services. With its balcony position over the Tarentaise valley the views of the surrounding scenery in the Vanoise National park and Beaufortain valley are stunning. You can even see Mont Blanc from here.
At the heart of the Paradiski area, Vallandry makes up part of the 425km of pistes, beginner zones, tree runs and snow parks. It is here in Vallandry that the cable car link between La Plagne and Les Arcs starts, finishing at Les Coches on the La Plagne side. Vallandry is also known for its wide green and blue runs but for those looking for more of a challenge there are plenty of exciting tree runs and off piste to keep you on your toes.
In the winter the road between Peisey Vallandry and Les Arcs is closed to private transport so you’ll need to go via Landry. Once at Moutiers follow signs for Aime, then Landry and finally Peisey-Vallandry. There are also frequent bus services and taxis from the station at Bourg Saint Maurice (TGV, Eurostar) up to resort as well as to all the local airports: Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery.
