The history of Courchevel

In 1946, the Savoie Department decided to buy back the communal lands of Tovets, Bellecôte, Loze, Vizelle and Courchevel. It was visionary elected officials who succeeded in developing the territory and continuing the growth of tourism and winter sports in the valley.
Two ski lifts were then installed by the Pomagalski company and inaugurated by the French ski team. Then in the 1950s, the construction of ski lifts continued with the commissioning of the Saulire cable car.
Saint-Bon, Le Praz, La Tania, Courchevel Village, Moriond and Courchevel 1850 are the 6 villages that make up the ski resort today.
