Meribel is a picturesque chalet resort sitting right at the heart of the 3 Valleys ski area and 600km of pistes. Meribel certainly has many chalets but also offers a full range of apartment and hotel accommodation. There’s plenty to do here both on and off the piste, the Olympic Parc complex offers a swimming pool, gym, bowling alley, climbing wall and ice-rink. Just next to this is the slalom piste used for the 2015 World Cup final and many more events throughout the season. Meribel is never a disappointment! Meribel is also well known for being a family orientated resort with plenty to keep even the youngest of visitors occupied.
The Meribel valley is known for being a great place for beginners to start skiing or snowboarding, but it also offers exciting conditions for every level and ability. The pistes are long and wide, there are two freeride parks, the tree skiing is second to none and there are plenty of blacks to challenge the best skiers and snowboarders. Meribel also boasts the legendary Combe de Vallon red run. From the top of Mont Vallon (2952m) down to the Chaudanne in Meribel (1450m) is 1502m of pistes that can be skied in one go – if your legs are up to it! The best part of skiing in Meribel is that no matter the levels within a group, the pistes are so well linked that you can easily meet up during the day.
As for all the resorts in the 3 Valleys, Meribel is an easy transfer from Moutiers by taxi, bus or car. The train station in Moutiers receives services from both the TGV and Eurostar and there are frequent transfer busses or group or private transfers available to all major airports: Lyon, Grenoble, Geneva and Chambery. Meribel is also accessible by the Olympic cabin lift from Brides les Bains.
