The resort of Les Rousses includes 4 villages; Les Rousses, Prémanon, Bois d'Amont and Lamoura. At the end of the 30's, a first ski lift was built to allow the inhabitants to ski down the snowy slopes. In 1960, a departmental authority was created in the Jura to manage and develop the ski lifts. In 1975, the tourist office was created and in 1989 the Club des Sports was founded.
