Different snowboarding practices
If you are a beginner or already a snowboarding expert, you have bound to prefer a discipline. Between freestyle, freeride and freecarve, learn more about the snowboards best suited to your program.
Freeride snowboard
You are an amateur of large open spaces and fresh powder? The freeride snowboard is for you. Free high-speed trajectories give you unparalleled sensations. To make the most of your favorite activity, it is important to have the right equipment.
The freeride boards are generally long, wide enough to benefit from a better lift and rigid heel for a good raise. In short, your ideal snowboard is directional, with a spatula often wider than the tail (heel) and inserts shifted backwards.
Freestyle snowboard
If your pleasure is to fly over modules or "slider" on the snowpark ramps, you should choose a shorter, more flexible snowboard and twin tip (bi spatula).
The large and centered stance for stability, as well as a duck stance in adjustment of the fastenings facilitate the rotations and allow to take a maximum amplitude.
Alpine, race or freecarve snowboard
Do you prefer to go down the tracks by turning the corners? Snowboarding in giant slalom, special or carving make you shiver? So you need a very rigid board, long enough and narrow for a faster transition from edge to edge.
At the fasteners, the ideal setting is in positive angulation, the shoulders facing the slope.
Snowboard touring or splitboard
Discipline in full explosion in recent years, both for skiers and snowboarders, the ski touring!
A splitboard, allows you to browse the mountain to look for untapped spots. Very specific, the splitboard can be divided into two parts, in its longitudinal axis. The fastening pin can also be changed, in order to have real hiking skis for the climb! Once at the summit, it will be enough to gather the two parts to reform the snowboard.
You will understand, each discipline corresponds to a specific snowboard. In order to be able to practice them all, the easiest way is to turn to the ski and snowboard rentals shops. So you can change the board as you want.
