La Mongie is a ski resort located in the Pyrenees. It is part of the Grand Tourmalet ski area, the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees. Linking La Mongie to Barèges, there are nearly 100 km of slopes spread over 300 hectares of slopes. La Mongie is above all a typical and authentic mountain village. In 1920, the very first skiers set off and in 1945, the first ski lift was created. It was not until 1973 that La Mongie and Barèges were linked together. Very quickly, the resort was a dazzling success thanks to its development. The strong point of the resort is its cable car allowing access to the Pic du Midi, mythical summit and tourist site nested at an altitude of more than 2800 metres.

ACCESS

From the airports of Tarbes, Pau or Toulouse, shuttle buses provide the link to the Grand Tourmalet. There are also shuttle bus lines from Lourdes and Tarbes train station to access the station. Finally, the A62 motorway allows you to reach Bagnères-de-Bigorre from major cities such as Bordeaux or Toulouse.
