Created in 1936, the Alpe d'Huez ski resort is located in the heart of the Grandes Rousses massif in the department of Isère. Nestled at an altitude of 1860 metres, it offers an infinite number of winter and summer activities and welcomes you all year round by immersing you in a rare and preserved natural environment. Nicknamed the island in the sun, it is often bathed in a sea of clouds and enjoys superb sunshine all year round.

Overlooking the Oisans valley, Alpe d'Huez is punctuated by numerous cultural and sporting events. In winter, the ski resort hosts the famous Tomorrowland festival, the world meeting place for electronic music lovers. In summer, it organizes the famous Megavalanche where nearly 300 bikers meet on the glacier for a mass start and a descent that has become mythical over 2600 meters. Book your ski equipment at l'Alpe d'Huez on our website and discover this amazing region and its wilderness.

Ski area

The highest point of the Alpe d'Huez ski area, at 3330 metres altitude, offers a breathtaking panorama with a view of the Ecrins National Park. With 250 km of slopes and five village resorts (Auris-en-Oisans, Huez-en-Oisans, La Garde, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard Reculas), l'Alpe d'Huez is the perfect place for all skiers.

The ski area offers 120 downhill ski runs for all levels for 2230 metres of vertical drop, as well as numerous areas throughout the resort. For the most experienced skiers, the Tunnel piste is waiting to be hurled down with its 35° slope! Other mythical slopes have made the reputation of the Alpe d'Huez and have aroused the curiosity of lovers of long descents. With more than 840 hectares of skiable terrain, you'll be thrilled with every descent while enjoying your ski rental in l'Alpe d'Huez. In addition, its off-piste area will delight ski touring enthusiasts as well as lovers of wide open spaces with snow.

The different snowpark areas ensure unique riding sessions. Each level has its own line of modules. Fully secured, they are easily accessible by chairlift and ski lift and lead to a "Cool Zone" to chill out with friends!

For the happiness of young and old alike, the Alpe d'Huez resort offers a wide range of fun activities to do alone or with the family, combining relaxation (wellness area, walks, sleigh rides...) and thrills (paragliding, ice driving, plane rides...). Finally, a large Nordic area is accessible by skating or alternatively to cross the 50 km of slopes at the foot of the Grandes Rousses.  To discover this incredible ski area, find all our rental shops in Alpe d'Huez and book your ski equipment to hurtle down the slopes!
